CNC Mechanical Parts Processing New Technology

China has made remarkable progress in the field of mechanical parts processing technology in recent years, particularly in the top-end equipment manufacturing, intelligent transformation, and the localization of key technology. The following are the trends and significant breakthroughs at present:

1. Domestic 5-Axis CNC Machine Tools:

Domestically produced 5-axis machining centers, breaking foreign monopolies in aerospace engine blades, nuclear equipment, and other high-precision complex part manufacturing.

The intelligent numerical control system supports AI algorithms to optimize the mechanical parts processing path and achieve nanoscale precision control.

Linear motor and electric spindle technology: Domestic enterprises have developed high-speed electric spindles (with a rotational speed of up to 60,000 revolutions per minute) and high-precision linear motors to improve the dynamic response and machining efficiency.


2. Ultra-Precision & Micro-Nano Manufacturing:

Harbin Institute of Technology developed ultra-precision turning machines with sub-micron accuracy, used for infrared optics and semiconductor molds.

A team from Tsinghua University has achieved the processing of micro-holes with a diameter of less than 1 micron (applied to MEMS sensors) by using femtosecond laser processing technology.

Semiconductor Key Components:

The positioning accuracy of the lithography machine workpiece table of Shanghai Microelectronics (SMEE) reaches the nanometer level, promoting the development of domestic chip manufacturing equipment.


3. Advanced Materials & Coating Technologies:

The hard alloy coated cutting tool (TiAlN+ nano-multi-layer coating) developed by Xiamen Tungsten Industry has a service life twice as long as that of traditional cutting tools and is used for high-speed cutting of titanium alloys.

The BPM series of plastic mold steel of Baosteel Special Steel (benchmarked against Swedish ASSAB 718) has been localized, reducing the cost by 40%.


4. Green Manufacturing & Energy-Saving Technologies

Cryogenic & Dry Machining:

The liquid nitrogen low-temperature cutting technology of Dalian University of Technology is applied to difficult-to-machine materials (such as nickel-based alloys) to reduce the contamination of cutting fluid.

Dry gear hobbing machines eliminate the use of cutting oil, reducing energy consumption by 30%.
